About de Bono For Schools

A Division of The Opportunity Thinker

The Opportunity Thinker is the publisher of official de Bono education and school materials sold on this site. This relationship was formalized in 2007 when Lynda Curtin presented the business case to launch a new business division--de Bono For Schools--to Dr. Edward de Bono. He blessed the plan and it has been full steam ahead developing appropriate materials ever since. All copyrights are properly held by The McQuaig Group Inc.

We do three things:

1. Provide free learning resources for faculty, teachers, administrators, board members, home schoolers, parents, and students on this website.

2. Deliver an excellent variety of professional development programs, and train educators, administrators, and boards to use de bono thinking tools throughout their curriculum and in their meetings. Our de Bono train-the-trainer events are top notch.

3. Publish, develop, and sell affordable education materials for faculty, boards, administrators, teachers, students, families, and thinking clubs. Visit our online store.

We believe equipping students to be productive and independent thinkers will help:

1. Increase test scores.

2. Improve reading and writing skills.

3. Students make informed choices.

4. Sharpen problem solving skills.

5. Nurture creative thinking skills.

6. Strengthen collaboration skills.

Our main goal is to equip educators, administrators, and students with practical, good quality tools that support proactive thinking as a necessary life skill for productive participation in our global society.

Our secondary goal is to start a thinking revolution in our schools. The debate is over. Our students have fallen behind in science, math, reading, you name it. We have a lot of catching up to do with many other countries throughout the world. Thinking is the most basic of all skills. We need to develop effective thinkers if we are to equip our youth to lead us well into the future.
