Differentiating Instruction with Six Thinking Hats®
This popular workshop digs deeper into the Six Thinking Hats® to help
educators become adept at using questions to stimulate and motivate
students across the learning continuum—from those that struggle to those
that are advanced. Teachers are responsible for ensuring all students in
a class are successful—they need to be flexible to meet the needs of
each individual student.
The objective of this workshop is to learn how to integrate Six Thinking
Hats® into your classroom to support learner success for all. When
connected to the student's readiness levels, interests, and learning
profile, the Six Hats becomes a powerful differentiation tool for
teachers to apply.
Teachers will learn to use Six Thinking Hats® to vary the questions they
ask, and students will become more independent as they create their own
questions. Six Thinking Hats® may be used when working alone, in pairs,
small groups and as a whole class. The tool may also be used when
developing differentiated instructional strategies such as interest and
learning centers, reading buddy centers, and independent studies.
